They were going at it off-screen, too...

Always find it interesting when that's going on...and they got paid for it, lol.

Wow, I hadn't heard that but I'm not at all surprised. Robert Mitchum was the Hollywood bad boy who kept getting in trouble for his wild ways. I am sure he got friendly with every female co-star he ever worked with; if she was willing.

This movie was made just before or right around the time Ava married Frank Sinatra. I have to assume they dated for a bit before marrying. If she was fooling around with Robert Mitchum, I assume Frank didn't know anything about it. He supposedly had a lot of mob friends. If he found out that would have probably been the last anyone would have heard from Robert Mitchum.

Oh the scandalous things that went on in Hollywood. I forget who said it but a male actor said Hollywood in the early days was a lot sex. Think of it; it was a lot of attractive, wealthy people gathered in one place so, with very few exceptions, everyone was sleeping with everyone else. I don't know how true that was but there seemed to have been quite a lot of famous hook ups.

There must have been a lot of pregnancies. They couldn't all have found those kind of doctors so I bet there were quite a few kids who grew up maybe never knowing they had celebrity bloodlines.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]

According to Lee Server's Ava Gardner biography, "Love Is Nothing", she started working with Mitchum on "My Forbidden Past" in the autumn of 1949, at the same time she and Sinatra, who'd known each other casually for years, met up at a Palm Springs' party and (allegedly) shot up the town of Indio, CA. "My Forbidden Past" was shelved for over a year, probably out of spite on Howard Hughes' (he owned RKO at the time) part towards Gardner, who (allegedly) spurned his advances for years.

I read Ava dated Howard, but disliked his racist views.

Loretta Young allegedly had a daughter out of wedlock with Clark Gable. She considered it sinful. So, she did the logical thing and blamed her daughter.

Loretta Young reportedly said that Gable date raped her. She adopted her own daughter so that no one would know. Gable never did anything for her. Out of the two parents, if say it was Gable that was the douche.

Truth be told, I had to see you one more time, even if it was from a distance.
