Watching them now. Just finished watching Mr. Belvedere Goes to College and now about to watch Mr. Belvedere Rings the Bell.

Very cute movies...but the new generation would probably find them very boring...too bad for them. They are delightful! :)

I can't wait to see Sitting Pretty where he started doing this character!

The FEELING of RINGS THE BELL has a strange similarity to the KICK THE CAN episode of Twilight Zone (where older people go from sullenness to liveliness). I wonder if this movie had any influcence on that story and the same production values of the TWILIGHT ZONE episode?

I watched the movie with my 20 year old daughter. When it finished she remarked, "That was lovely." PS: She's been crazy about Webb since I showed her Laura a few years ago.

misspaddylee - I can tell that you have brought your daughter up well:

a) because she has no preconceptions about watching old black and white movies being 'naff',

b) she watches them with you

and

c) she knows a good movie - with a charming story and charismatic actors - when she see one!

I had never seen this movie before. When it finished, I turned to my wife and said 'That was lovely' (sound familiar?)

The viewing of Mr. Belvedere Rings the Bell is more special to me now when I think of the communal spirit across the miles from your home and ours.

PS: Thanks for the compliment. She's a good kid.
