Thelma

The best Thelma movie EVER.

I definitely agree! This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It's absolute magic to watch. Thelma was a standout in this movie, even with the terrific cast. She was both strong and compassionate. I have seen this movie several times, and can see another depth to Thelma's character each time.

I was able to buy a good VHS copy a couple of years ago on eBay. Fox Movie Channel showed this movie several times last year, and I hope they show it again. Personally, I adore this movie and have collected all the memorablia I can get for it: movie poster; black-and-white lobby cards; a copy of "Screen Stories" with an adaptation of this movie; and an original script from eBay, (not cheap, but well worth it). It's a shame this movie is not better known; it's a real hidden gem.

Hi fellow Thelma fan....Not only do you get the great Thelma, you get the Flatiron building!!!! One line that kills me is, " That's enough Swedish out of the both of you". Are you old enough to remember the Swedish character as "Crazy Gugenheim" on the Jackie Gleason show from Miami Beach? If not that's ok..........

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I do remember Crazy Guggenheim from when they showed repeats of the old "Jackie Gleason Show" several years ago. Funny character!

And I also love the opening shot of the Flatiron building. "The Model and the Marriage Broker" benefits from a lot of on-location New York city scenes. I recognized Grand Central Station, as well.
