Larry Keating

Thelma Ritter was great in this, but I'd also like to mention the underrated Larry Keating. He's one of those character actors I've seen a lot, but I never knew his name. I loved him in this film, especially the last scenes with his son and with Thelma. Very charming!

I just mentioned him to my wife today when we saw The Best Things in Life are Free, where he played the pompous studio exectuive. Larry Keating was indeed a very versatile character actor, playing from nice to nasty with equal conviction. See him also in such diverse films as Whirlpool, Bright Victory, When Worlds Collide, Inferno, Boys' Night Out and many others.
