Looking for name of a movie....

Around the time this film was made there was a funny comedy that came out. It was in color and there were some gangsters who ended up all getting shot. The funnest part was when the main characters took the dead gangsters and put thier bodies (in different poses) on the front steps and on the front porches of some of the other characters in the movie. It was a real screw-ball funny movie. I just cannot remember the name of it. It took place in a big city like New York City around the theater district.....Let me know if you remember this film....John in Louisiana
