6/10

When there's no more room in hell, The dead will walk the earth...

reply

Agreed, but I suppose it's just due to the fact she only had a supporting role. She still looked stunning though!

Do guys like "the thing"?
They like it better than no thing.

reply

She was at her most beautiful in the early 50s.

The Divine Genealogy Goddess

reply

Barbara Bates was prettier anyhow

MM has title credit in the version on dvd, which makes no sense, as she has three small scenes and doesn't figure in the plot, such as it is.

Can we suppose that what we're seeing there is a re-release, sent back to theatres after, say, Niagara?

reply

the version has nothing to do with a vintage 're-release' the simple fact is that when the film was made in 1951 Marilyn wasn't 'MARILYN'...

as the entirety of DVD technology post dates her Iconic status it's simply a case of marketing by highlighting her involvement

lets face it: Claudette Colbert while The Star and a true superstar of her era simply doesn't have the name recognition with the masses as MM

-- after CC you have Robert Wagner: but here you run into him being recognized as much for his TV Work

-- after Wagner the only real name is MacDonald Carey (again Big for the era, if known at all today it's as the Voice of Days of Our Lives)

A modern example of such marketing is one of the Texas Chainsaw Sequels with Renee Zellwegger and Mathew McCoughnahey in bit parts, yet the DVD case implies they're the stars

same Goes for the movie Hackers, most DVD cases imply Angelina Jolie is the star, and while the female lead she's actually down 4th or 5th in the cast

it was early days in her short career

so many movies, so little time

Her body looked good, but her face didn't seem like the famous face we know, somehow. Was it bad makeup? Did she have plastic surgery after this film?
