Didn't know what to expect

I'm halfway thru a huge list of recommended titles and Kind Lady was on it. I like to know as little as possible about movies before I see them so it can be a completely fresh experience. Sometimes I don't even know who the cast is. If I record it off TCM then Robert Osborne's opening commentary gets muted since he slips in plot points that can be mild spoilers.

So I settled in for Kind Lady and as it started I got the impression, from cast and title, that this was gonna be a gentile story of post-WWII Britain. Surprise! What a great little suspenser, with one of those bad guys who appears to have everything figured out. The feeling of violation is so stark (especially to anyone with collectibles) and EB turns in a cool and measured performance. I want more like this!

Yes, I'm the same way. I did tape "Kind Lady" when TCM showed it but....managed to cut off the last 15 minutes or so, so I was very happy they showed it again today. It was much better than I thought it was going to be as well.

Yes very much so, great way of phrasing that.

As a recommendation for more like this other than those mentioned, "Sorry, Wrong Number" might be one....
