This Is A Great Movie

I got my copy from a movie channel,
If you are lucky enough to live in an area where it is run on tv, by all means, get it.
Such good actors and such a good plot.
Anyone want to comment on this movie?

i saw this for the first time last night on TCM,it certainly deserves to be more widely known...the story and cast are brillient...and ethal barrymore's potrayal is something that should be studied in acting classes...when she is on the screen, no one else means anything

Does anyone know where you can find a (decent) copy of this film? Thanks!

Never heard of it until last night, when it showed on a satellite channel. EB is great, indeed. And I have no idea what the user comment about 'typical bright MGM light' is all about: the lighting IS dark and wet, just right for a gothic thriller.
Admittedly, it is a little slow and old-fashioned (for 1951!) in places.
Now, which role is the banker Foster preparing for here? ;-)))))

Hear, hear!!!

I've followed three of these artists, (what I 'thought' was closely...lol) but, 'Kind Lady' was a breathtaking discovery.

I'll tape the next showing and archive my copy.

How can priceless gems like this just fade from view???

Astonishing.

This one moves *way* up on my personal 'unappreciated/unknown/unpromoted' list.

Vanity plates; too expensive...I'll just change my name to: "Juliet X-Ray Tango 649"

EB was brilliant and owned this movie--what a completely charismatic actress. Love her.

Plot question: In the first half hour of the movie, why would she have gone up to a somewhat creepy/strange man's apartment alone with him? Didn't make sense to me.

Maurice Evans' character was diabolically charming and she wanted to help the struggling artist.

This is a great movie but very disturbing.

It is a hidden gem of a film 😃
