Double-featured with Dark Passage

Just saw this film with Dark Passage at the Castro theater with over 1,000 peole at the 2012 Noir City festival. Never seen so many recognizable locations in one sitting! Contessa, who is in her 90's sent a letter from Milan thanking us all for our interest and we did a massive "We love you Valentena!" on a video message back to her. Basehart and Contessa fell in love and married after production. This movie really was a mash-up of Rebecca, Suspicion, Gaslight, etc., set in SF. Some of the beauty and topographic danger of our fair city was put to great effect.

"You think it's easy to kill somebody? It takes time and patience and a strong stomach."

"The great Johnny Rocco, with Nora's spittle hanging from his face."
