pretty good,SF looks good.

Despite watching STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO back in the day and enjoying BULLITT and other SF based films I have never had the urge to go there, everyone goes on about the FISHERMAN'S WHARF but it sounds boring to me,but I like the buildings and the hills shown in this film.

A good not a great film, but a good plot, the acting was ok as well,I had no issues with the Polish accent, but if I had been the bad guy I would have stuck with the governess because she was sexy.

The scenes in wartime europe did not look great, and as a British person obsessed with World War 11 can I point out that Belsen was liberated by the British Army, but for the purposes of the plot it had to be an American officer she met.

I am trying to think of any other films based on issues arising out of World War 11,I think of the one with MONTGOMERY CLIFF (THE JOURNEY?)THE BIG LIFT,DECISION AT DAWN,FRIEDA,anyone think of any others?

If you hold the shift button when you click the letter i, it makes it upper case.

World War II.

When I read what you typed it comes out as world war eleven.

Just sayin'.

There's another San Francisco Bay one that is older, with a similar name. The House Across the Bay (1940) is not so noirish as much as drama. Since it's 1940, it has nothing at all to do with World War II. Another SF based film, again, not war related, was I Remember Mama (1948). That one is adorable and fun.

In the US, as someone pointed out, we use Roman Numerals to designate the wars and that makes them the letter I. I don't know what they do in the UK. Americans often forget that others do things differently, or is it the other way around? 

Someone already suggested The Best Years of Our Lives (1946), which is considered the best of the best, when it came to WWII issues. I've not yet seen Germania anno zero (1948) but I plan on it as soon as I can.

Sadly, Hollywood was more interested in exploring the post war issues of Vietnam rather than the WWII. They were hypocrites. Those kinds of movies come in at the thousands. It's so many it makes me yawn. It is all propaganda with no real substance. Once the sixties rolled around, Hollywood became garbage.
