Cute coming of age film

I loved this film when I saw it on tv as a young teen. I love it now. It's fast moving, has adventure, and romance. I'm surprised so many people have voiced a negative opinion here. It's great seeing Elinor Donahue in an early role before Father Knows Best. Margret O'Brien is charming as the leading lady.
