Which is the best version?

I've had so much trouble finding a really good copy of this film. Either the copy is really dirty and shoddy-looking, or the opening dance number is cut out for some reason and it just starts with the manager talking to his investors. It's a real shame, because I find this particular musical so charming and sweet.

The 2006 DVD version (Critic's Choice) of Happy Go Lovely (UPC = 617742114294) has been digitially restored and looks very good. There are a few places where the color contrast changes as the camera shot changes, but overall the audio and video looks good to me. It also begins with the Scotland festival opening telling the viewer about how visitors go to Scotland to celebrate the festival. And it has the opening dance number which includes the original female star of the stage production who later quits the show and is replaced by Vera Ellen. I also saw the movie on TV recently and the DVD looks almost the same as the TV presentation.

I have the Screen Icons David Niven Collection and the copy on that is pretty good.
