Again no screens ....

After noticing in another old movie that there were no screens in the windows, I'm watching this flick for the 1,0000 time and I see that there are no screens in these windows either ! I don't believe I've ever seen a window screen in any movie or TV show.
Not sure when window screens were invented and in most windows - guess I should Google this and find out what the deal is/was ...
