It doesn't work that way. (spoiler)

I saw this film on daytime TV years ago, and there's one aspect that I found hilarious. Spoiler alert: Lyle Bettger's character reveals that he faked a miracle "to watch you jesuits run around like a bunch of black ants". Then Bettger says "I'm putting you under the seal of confession." You can't randomly incriminate yourself to a priest and then decide that you were making a sacramental confession.
