BAD DVD
Beward of the non-restored DVD sold by Movies Unlimited. I tossed the disc without getting through the movie. The color has bleached out.

shareI saw it on VHS and the quality wasn't THAT badWhen there's no more room in hell, The dead will walk the earth...
I bought another 'restored' version of this from DIGIVIEW and it was as bad as the first one even though it stated on the cover that it had been restored. After thirty minutes or more I couldn't take anymore. It also has been trashed.
shareThe DUKE home ent issue here in Australia is the same poor ntsc as you have seen wmoores. That said, if you are going to ever get to see some of the more obscure but very fine older lost films, you are going to have to show more tolerance with bad presentations, because in the case of something like Drums in the Deep south, it is all you are going to be offered. Despite the appalling presentation, this is a fine film well worth viewing.
shareThe new VCI dvd is quite good. Espcially if you remember the color system Drums In The Deep South was filmed in was not Technicolor nor even Eastman color but Supercinecolor.

Supercinecolr movies sometimes look like black and white with a tint at times. Only vibrant colors seem to project out. The deep blue of the soldiers trousers really show themselves in this movie. Whereas lighter colors just to seem to have a gray tinge and look nondescript.
