'Decision Before Dawn' a propaganda film

A blog post addressing "Decision Before Dawn"'s function as a propaganda film: http://bieganski-the-blog.blogspot.com/2011/08/hollywood-exculpates-na zi-germany.html

I have read the post and I don't understand it.
Many people tell me I am not stupid or uneducated.

Of course people who supported the nazis in 1933 did not all commit suicidein 1945, but then how do you oppose a police state without putting yourself in danger.
A lot of people got on with their lives hoped they survived.
The idea that everybody was a fanatical nazi is just stupid, likewise obviously a lot of people help positive about the nazis and the war when Germany was doing well.

The nazi campaign against the jews built on the roots of european anti semitism but it was nazi Germany who was the lead agent of the holocaust,French and Polish catholics had negative views of jews but it was the nazi party who organised the mass murder.

I thought this film was pretty good,it pointed out that nobody likes a traitor, even one who is on the side of the good guys.
The traitors (or German democrats)are trying to survive in a changing world, just like they did when under nazi rule,of course some of the traitors, like many in nazi Germany had grown up under a state which told them what to think from an early age.

It is propaganda.
But not for Germans but against them.

This is a movie intended for German audiences in 1951 in occupied American territory. Its to encourage cooperation with population which at this point is still feeling very antagonistic towards occupants.

The two German soldiers spying for the Americans have a hard time getting any respect from their recruiters who mostly consider them "traitors" just as the Germans do (or would) and both of them are ultimately killed in the line of duty. How does that "encourage cooperation"?

look at how the July plotters are official national heroes in Germany now (as they should be).
1948,Berlin blockade,1950,Korean war.
West Germany had to be revived and allowed to join NATO (formed in 1949).
Germany had to become an ordinary country in the Western fold.

I don't think this is a propaganda film but if it was made as such the message is,there were good Germans during the war and there are no bad Germans now?
