used to have an old vhs copy of heavily edited tv matinee version - not very good. i understand that turner classic movies has this, but has never been shown.

A friend of mine had copies on tape and used to pass them around...its a great movie to watch if you ever were a friend of Bill.
I've not seen the friend in sometime hopefully you have all found it.Why it has never been shown on TCM must be content issue or copyright problems

TCM-HD played this recently on their UK channel. No idea why they would pull this one out, but it was a welcome viewing. The print seemed to be in pretty decent condition, with the odd scratch and a bit on the green side (Though that was easily remedied by turning the colour all the down).

It is a good enough film to merit a DVD/Blu-ray release, as far as I'm concerned. Puzzled as to why they wouldn't show it in the US, any recent broadcasts?
