Interested in possible solutions to the verdict

This is a very interesting question...even if the movie ain't that great. I'd be interested in other viewer's ideas of how to solve the dilemma of sentencing a pair of siamese twins, one guilty of murder and one innocent. Given that they are not able to be surgically seperated (and a court couldn't really order that), using our current laws (no cruel and unusual....well, at least not cruel) and any modern technology may be used to care out the sentence. Please respond, I'm waiting for a good discussion!
As for my opinion, it's quite simple...she was being tried for premeditated 1st degree murder so she was in fact not guilty as what happended was 2nd degree murder and NOT premeditated, haha. But for the purpose of the discussion lets just say murder and know the one is guilty and one innocent. There, I'm at a loss. Would be really interesting to hear from someone with any law background!

I don't have any law background, but here's my take on it. The two can't be separated, and you can't expect an innocent woman to go to prison for a crime her sister committed. Now, take into effect that there would be not a shred of evidence that the sister who did the shooting is a threat to anybody besides the man she shot and let's face it, it's too late for him...and it stands to good reason she wouldn't repeat her actions...so I'd find them guilty, but only sentence them to probation for about a year, house arrest for about a month, and therapy for a few months.

There is no "answer." Whatever is decided would be unprecedented.

Not only is it possible, it is essential

If I were the judge I'd let them off and give Vivian a medal.
