like to see better adaptation of their real lives

On Amazon there is a book about the real lives of the Hilton sisters that seemed to get good reviews. I'd like to see a remake of this story by a better director that does a better service to the real lives of these sisters(maybe based on this book). This movie was obviously cheap exploitation and these real people deserved better. Just a thought...

I'm reading the book right now and it's really good. The idea for the murder part of the movie is lifted from Mark Twain's story Those Extraordinary Twins and the plot fleshed out with events from the Hilton's life. Ross Frisco pushed them into doing the movie because he'd convinced them to leave their agent for him and then couldn't get them any good jobs. It was his last best hope at keeping them with his agency. Since you've seen the movie you can guess they ended up firing him, lawsuits were filed and everybody involved went broke. The twins' last job was running registers at a Park-N-Shop.

You're totally right, though. If actresses could be found, their real story would make a great movie. Until then I strongly recommend the book. (The Lives and Loves of Daisy and Violet Hilton by Dean Jensen.) They wrote their autobiography but according to Jensen it's almost entirely made up.

seriously - a film about their lives would be much better than singing and dancing revues...

I got a kick out of this comment because I just finished the book and was recommending it to a friend. I said it was "a biography on the Hilton sisters" and she started telling me how she'd read a lot about their early lives and started telling me things that made no sense at all given what I'd just been reading. Finally I said "these can't be the same Hilton sisters", and my friend said "Paris and Nikki?". NO... but it was funny because she's in her 60's and I wouldn't have thought the contemporary Hilton sisters would even be on her radar. Excellent book (although rather depressing), highly recommend. This film... well, I found it pretty slow and the performances were quite weak, but it was enough to keep me watching just for the novelty.

I can just imagine walking into the Park 'n' Shop for a quart of milk and seeing these conjoined middle-aged ladies (probably still wearing curls) behind the register. "D'ya need a receipt, dearie?"

Well, one could do the counter work and one could watch for shoplifters.
