Yeah 8/10 from me too. I've never seen any Becker before, but I rented this after reading the praise Becker got in Cahiers Du Cinema (back in the days when Truffaut and Godard were writing for it). I'll definitely see some more. I have
Le Trou and Touchez pas au grisbi on my rental list as well.

All you need to make a movie is a girl and a gun.

I came to CASQUE D'OR because I watched Becker's LE TROU (which was masterful). Looking forward to watch the rest of his oeuvre.

Great film just saw a digitally restored print at my local cinema. Is it me or do B/W movies look better on DCP?

This great french movie contain one of moviehistorys most beautiful " love-at-first-sight-scenes": Balroomscene where Manda take the first look of Marie dancing with her "lover". Simone Signoret and Serge Regianni is the perfect match and the music matches perfect too. DVD available from Amazon USA, UK or France. Take a look and you will agree.

Just saw it this evening. A film I had borrowed from the library. Fantastic movie! 9/10 from me. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
