I love it when a bullfighter gets gored

That's one of the reasons I hate the Mexican culture. There is no excuse for the senseless torture of innocent animals. As far as I'm concerned, it's no different than what Michael Vick did.
Go ahead, defend yourselves. Debate me. I welcome it.

Not a defense, but simply pointing out that we don't have the moral high ground in this case: in the US, animals bred for slaughter have awful lives, penned up, chained up, not allowed to move from the moment they're born, pressed close together in claustraphobic conditions, force-fed, shot full of drugs to keep down infection from living sedentary lives in prison conditions, and finally dragged onto an assembly line for killing. Bulls bred for the ring live in open territory, breathing fresh air and eating real food. Their ordeal in the ring lasts 20 minutes. It it cruel, I agree. But we are no better, and possibly worse.

It may have been that way at one time, but there are organizations out there like P.E.T.A that have pushed laws through our courts to end such practices and bring about reform in how we treat our animals for slaughter. We still have a long way to go. However, that's nothing compared to the way animals are treated in other countries such as Mexico.

Mexican culture? Was it not Europe from where the blood sport involving bulls began? The film The Bullfighter and The Lady on whose boards we both are takes place in Spain, not Mexico.
