And deservedly so. A wonderful and touching movie. Great cast, great acting, especially by Sir Michael Redgrave who also "gave us" Vanessa Redgrave

Magnificent image from Criterion - it is so good that it almost detracts from the film narrative. Sharp detail, sublime contrast, deep black levels and visible grain. Original audio was consistent and subtitles are of Criterion's usual perfection. This package is also stacked with extra features - commentary, a healthy interview with Figgis and an archival blip with Redgrave. The film is a special one and Criterion have done the supreme job in bringing it to DVD. Nothing less than 5 out of 5
