Twilight Zone Episode - 'Changing of the Guard'

I thought of this wonderful episode immediately when viewing the movie. Donald Pleasence played a teacher retiring who felt he didn't accomplish anything during his career - But, it turns out, he finds he really did impact many of his pupils!

'There’s a name for you ladies, but it’s not used - Outside a kennel! (Crystal Allen in The Women)'

Same here. Changing of the Guard is one of my favorite TZ episodes; I cry every time I see the scene where the boys tell the teacher what he gave to them.

Am I anywhere near the imaginary cliff?

Going into this movie, I thought of the very same connection.

I'm glad others out there caught this, too!

What a marvellous, poignant movie...

Yes indeed this episode is very similar to The Browning Version. The Changing of the Guard is one of my favourite episodes of the series, it's so moving and well acted.

Go to bed Frank or this is going to get ugly .

Rod Serling was undoubtedly influenced by "The Browning Version" when he wrote his script for "Changing of the Guard" and came up with one of the most moving episodes of the series.
