Clip of 'The Blue Veil' used on 'Falcon Crest'

An interesting side note is that a clip from "The Blue Veil" was used on an episode of "Falcon Crest". It was one of the seaon-ending cliffhanger episodes, and on this particular episode, Jane Wyman's character Angela received a letter from her old enemy Jacqueline, played by Lana Turner. The letter detailed how Jacqueline and Angela's husband had had the last laugh on Angela by stealing the baby that Angela had been told died in childbirth many years ago. The scene dissolved to the clip (tinted blue) from "The Blue Veil" showing Louise being told by the doctor that her baby had died, as a way of showing Angela's memory of the event. It was very clever and a wonderful glimpse at a film that remains mostly unseen.
