I just saw the blue veil on dvd

It was the 1980 video taped version from a tv station in los Angeles. Despite the somewhat poor version of the film, there is nothing like the performances of Jane Wyman, Joan Blondell, and Natalie Wood. Those performances brought me to tears, as well as the scene where Jane Wyman reunites with her former charges. The New York Times once described this film as " cubed sugar, but beautifully acted". I wonder what the status is of the litigation that is blocking this film from being released on legitimate dvd?

This is mostly a guess by me, but I read that rights to the The Blue Veil, which is a remake of the French film "La Voile Bleu" made in 1942, were purchased by someone in France. So maybe whoever owns it was associated with the French film and doesn't want it released in France and competing with their film? Like I said, Just an opinion.
