Bernard DeVoto

I haven't seen this film yet, but it's clearly inspired by DeVoto's 1948 Pulitzer Prize-winning history of the mountain men. Interesting that the only place his name comes up in connection with the movie is as an uncredited writer. Based on the description here, it has little in common with the book apart from the title and the general subject matter. I hope he got a fat check!
