Ricardo Montalban being injured

I have read all the stories about how he was injured and his spine was affected because of an accident involving a horse.

But I just watched him dancing in several movies made AFTER this accident.

Now how is that possible?

I'm just curious. I used to watch him limp as Mr. Roark on Fantasy Island. But watching him dance with Lana Turner in Latin Lovers which was made AFTER he had the accident, well he danced just fine.

Was he wearing a special brace or had morphine or something. I know people with spinal injuries, and they can't dance after these injuries.
