Ice From Space w/ Paul Newman

I haven't seen too many episodes of this show, but from what I've seen.. My God it's dull! It's watching the radio as you listened to some cheesy sci-fi program....
I'm glad Paul Newman had a healthy acting career... After watching this, I wouldn't have hired him for a commercial!

If you are looking for fancy decorations and awesome special effects, you should look elsewhere, but if listen to it you will find some very good stories that make you think, and I have seen several that makes me wonder if some of the newer movies might have lifted an idea or two from shows such as this.

Yes, this was not that great an episode. Many were very good though. I recommend these:

The Dark Angel
The Crystal Egg
Test Flight
Sneak Attack
What You Need
The Children's Room
Age of Peril
Time To Go
World of Water
All the Time in the World
Little Black Bag
Ahead of His Time
The Duplicates
The Seeing-Eye Surgeon
The Horn
The Window
Another Chance
The Great Silence
Read To Me, Herr Doktor
Ghost Writer
Past Tense

I agree that was not a great episode, but every show is entitled to a few clunkers, that doesn't mean they should be written off as all bad, otherwise you may just cheat yourself out of some good entertainment.

I just come into these shows as watching them as a play, which is pretty much what they are.

Yep. I've been telling some people about this show and they've all been interested :) Some pretty good stories here!

Yes in one episode I've seen, this man has a machine that can erase only certain parts of your memory, hmmm now where have I heard of that in recent years?

Not sure but my HEROS have always been cowboys. :)

reply

Not that I'm an expert on sci-fi tv or anything, but the closest thing I can think of is an episode of the 80s version of The Twilight Zone where an unemployed man had to sell his memories.

Not quite the same, but once he sold them, they were gone. (Good episode too, by the way.)

The show Heros there is this guy who had the ability to make one forget only certain things.

I thought it was interesting to see Paul Newman's first credited recorded performance. Broadway happened in 1953 then the films started in 1954.

I like a lot of praise. - Hugh Grant

Didn't realise it was him, man oh man did he improve.

Watching Paul Newman in that episode reminded me of Joey in Friends - totally blank

So glad he didn't give up after parts like that
