So if Don Juan was shelved...

What movie did Ricky end up staring in?

reply

They never say. He just wound up making some other movie and it had wrapped by the time of the John Wayne episodes.

It was kind of odd because in the episode where Lucy pretended to be Rickys agent he hadn’t even been cast in a movie yet and then a couple of episodes later he had been cast and the movie was done. I feel there was a huge time jump in there somewhere

Well the 'Ricky needs and Agent' episode was in season 4 and season 5 opens up with the first of the John Wayne episodes where Ricky's movie is done. So we're left to assume Ricky finished the movie over summer break.

Ah got it so there was just a huge time jump from season to season . Makes sense but to a viewer who doesn’t realize this it’s kind of awkward

Ricky stared at a lot of things. He was not very lucid. He did not proofread his posts.

It always bugged me that they didn't ever say the title of the movie.

The Hollywood arc started out great. It was well plotted. But then the writers seemed to have dropped the ball (or lost interest). For example, Variety ran an article that said Ricky's film was shelved. Ricky didn't believe it at first because he was scheduled to do screen tests with possible leading ladies. I always wondered, what the heck he was doing before that?
He'd been in Hollywood for weeks and Don Juan still didn't have a leading lady?

Actually I think the Hollywood episodes were just a way to get Lucy involved in all sorts of shenanigans with big movie STARS and a chance for her to realize her showbiz ambitions.! She was so star struck. Ricky's "movie" was just an excuse to get the Ricardos to Tinsel town, I think.
