Dinner Parties

Oh, dear. Just about ready to go on vacation, so I'm off all week and did ANOTHER
marathon: Dinner Parties. I chose fave eps where Lucy is having dinner in the
living room.

Lucy's Schedule (dinner rolls and catcher's mitts. YUM!)
Lucy Wants New Furniture (WE knows what's in the kitchen!!)
The Million Dollar Idea (Fred just digs that salad dressing)
Lucy is Matchmaker (Lucy trying to help Dorothy "rope" Sam Carter)
Ethel's Birthday (Lucy and Ethel hint, while Ricky gets the old chocolates out)

Fun bunch of eps!

Lucy messes up not only her own dinner parties, but everyone else's too! In Lucy's Schedule, the Littlefields were expecting them and due to Lucy's mix up with the clock, the Ricardos were late and missed dinner.

Lucy Wants New Furniture- For someone who had dinner "all ready" in the living room, Lucy sure forgot a LOT if things!

Can I have a steak knife?

Can I have some butter? (BUTTER? on BREAD? I'll never get used to your strange Cuban dishes)

Salt cellar is empty!

Just watched 'Lucy is Matchmaker' again last night. Can't that woman bake a chicken without burning it to a crisp? What temperature did she set the oven on anyway? lol

Lucy's dinner in 'Fan Magazine Interview' apparently went off without a hitch. But Ricky was livid at the cost!
" Steak ! Shrimp cocktail. This dunner must've cost a fortune!"

He should have known Lucy would try to impress the magazine writer.

Several episodes after "Lucy is Matchmaker", she burns the chicken AGAIN when Ricky's mother comes to visit!

reply

Yes, that was in the back of my mind. I knew she burned another chicken. I'm not a great cook but I've never burned a chicken like that in my life! You just don't bake a chicken at that high of a temperature to turn it black.

Another dinner party that went awry was on the Lucy/Desi Comedy Hour, "The Celebrity Next Door" (I think that was the title). She serves strawberries to Tallulah Bankhead who had a severe allergy to them.
