Vehicular Lucy

Did another marathon last night of Lucy and her disasters with planes, trains, and automobiles -
and a lawn mower!

Lucy Learns to Drive (only a so-so ep for me)
The Great Train Robbery (a strong offering, but never a personal fave. Not sure why).
Bon Voyage (Lucy with a boat AND a helicopter).
Return Home From Europe (easily one of my top 20 faves).
Lucy Raises Tulips (Lucy and that power mower...and snacking on hedge!).

I don't think Lucy could be trusted with anything that had wheels or passengers!

Was going to include "Off to Florida", but I started getting sleepy, and the car thing was
covered in "Lucy Learns To Drive." Too bad, because it's a lot funnier than "Lucy Learns
to Drive", and Lucy does some serious damage to Mrs. Grundy's car!

"Vehicular Lucy"! LOL What a topic!

Lucy didn't do too well with anything that had moving parts. "Off to Florida" was pretty funny. Lucy "knew" how to change a tire from watching the fellas! Well maybe she did, after putting the flat one back on first.

"Return Home" from Europe when Lucy smuggles aboard Cheddar, er Chester, on board, LOL

Lucy didn't do too well on her tour of Hollywood either. She kept changing seats on the tour bus until that woman SAT on her. HA! The driver wasn't too thrilled with Lucy's impromptu guided tour. He was only too glad to leave her behind.

Lucy has bad luck on the subway too. Who else wears a loving cup on her head and gets lost underneath Grand Central Station?

PJ, you're RIGHT!! "The Tour" and "Lucy and the Loving Cup" could've easily been included! If I add these to "Off
to Florida", and toss in Lucy's mixing up LEMONADE for GASOLINE, I have part two of this topic!

Will do tonight (Believe it or not, I do work full-time, have friends, and see modern shows and movies). But ILL has
become a serious hobby for me, especially again in the last year. Lot's of marathons.

Thanks for for those two great selections!

ILL has been a "serious hobby" for me all my life.

Just found a few more times when Lucy and vehicles had problems. In "First Stop" they decide to push on after those stale cheese sandwiches at the diner. Ricky feels too tired to drive. But Lucy convinces him to let HER take the wheel. It's late, there's no traffic...

So where does she drive them to? The same miserable diner! Of course the owner of the diner put up a bunch of deceptive billboards. But Lucy followed them.

"Staten Island Ferry"- a moving vehicle. Lucy takes Fred on a ferry ride in an attempt to cure his seasickness, only to succumb to the "mal de mer " herself. She takes so many seasick pills that she is hardly awake to get her passport.

And "Bon Voyage", aside from the ship which she can't seem to stay on, she has a run-in with a bicycle and loses her skirt.

I'm tempted to add 'Danny Boy' from " The Fox Hunt". Horses were a form of transportation. And Lucy couldn't seem to stay on HERS! Of course she was a total novice when it came to riding horses. But novice or not, how many new riders end up on their horse backwards? lol

reply

Yes, last night, I did:
The Tour
The Fox Hunt
Off to Florida
Lucy and the Loving Cup

In both nights, Lucy created problems in cars, planes, buses, HORSES, bikes, ships, helicopters, and subways!

The Fox Hunt was a last minute replacement for "Desert Island", as I don't care for the Florida eps too much, while
I LOVE The Fox Hunt!

Yes, Staten Island Ferry would've been a good one.
