'Falling in love...' QUOTE? HELP?!?!?!

Does anyone know where I can find the quote of Ms Bacall's that goes something like "you think you're falling in love with me. DONT"...

I'm almost positive that it came from this movie.

Can anyone provide me the text of this quote?

Thanks,
Bodie

Yes, it was in the movie. I don't remember exactly where, though. There were several scenes between them where she kept leading him on and pushing him away, and it was one of those.
She recognized she was an unbalanced person.

I dont even OWN a copy of the film... Could somebody reference the scene I'm talking about and give me a brief outline of the quote?

Many thanks in advance.

It's the scene where she visits his place for the first time, they kiss, and then he goes for a second one, but she stops him. He says I think: "I'm falling in love with you." She says: "Don't." And then she elaborates on her reason for not wanting him to continue.

I know this is almost 6 years late, but I just watched this movie again recently so here you go. As Felonius-Punk mentioned, this is during Amy's first visit to Rick's place:

Amy: Keep away, Richard! You and your fine frenzy. This is my first and last warning. You think you're falling in love with me. Well, don't. Don't take any chances with me. Only people who respect themselves can ever love fully- freely. I don't happen to respect myself.

Rick: You sound like something out of a book.

Hopefully you see this message lol. If not, at least it's still a cool quote for someone else to read I guess.

I just wanted to let you know that it will be on tonight on TCM at 8:15pm on the West Coast. Depending where you are, it might be earlier or later for you. Hope you can catch it!

Was the book like this movie? Supposedly this was sorta inspired by Bix B, but Douglas' character isn't played like the Bix I remember reading about.

p.s. A real life musician, Emmett Hardy did inspire Bix, then died at the age of 22\23. He was White, and like Buddy Bolden, supposedly had a cylinder of a performance that became lost, like Bolden's.

Thanks, opryphantom1, for teaching me a bit of music history. I looked up both Buddy Bolden and Emmett Hardy and learned a lot. Like Bix, Bolden died in 1931, but he was older. Hardy, like you stated, died (from TB) in 1925 at the tender age of 22. It's so interesting to me reading about early musicians. I grew up listening to my dad's old 78's...yes 78's and knowing a little about Glenn Miller, The Dorsey's and many others. The gentlemen we're discussing here were a little before my dad's time and I don't remember hearing their names. So...thanks for introducing them to me.
