Let's face it.. the great McNally stole the show.

"Winchester '73" would've not been classic without him. Bravo!

All of the terrific actors in "Winchester '73" ran with their chance to shine. Dutch Henry Brown is one of the most memorable villains of all-time. I enjoy and appreciate Stephen McNally in this role very much.

I loved Dan Duryea--not just here!

He reminds you of various heavies, though. But he's just sufficiently different.

I rather thought Dan Duryea did.

They both were marvelous villains, but in different ways. The more often I watch this film, the more I discover in McNally's performance. He even has a sense of humor. Notice the way he grins at Shelley Winters when he recognizes the bullet Stewart gave her, and says " We have something in common. He's been tryin' to give me one of those for a long time now."

I love the way the tension escalates in the card game, with McNally getting more and more reckless and angry, as John McIntire gets even more sly and laid back. And the outraged way he snarls, when they find the dead McIntire, that " Some Indian's got my gun!"

This movie is so well written and well acted, it just continues to improve with age.

And when he crossed the bridge, the phantoms came to meet him

I agree, McNally was outstanding. But, when Dan Duryea finally appears anout an hour into the movie, he dominates the film for the remainder of his screen time.

Waco Johnny Dean, absolutely, STOLE the show

I thought he was amazing, made me laugh, and appeared to be subtly crazy, and the way he forces the girl to like him, its great
