Enjoyable film

I enjoyed this film. You get the splendid comic timing of James Cagney, some lovely singing from Doris Day and Gordon MacRae, some fine hoofing from Gene Nelson, the solid presence of Virginia Mayo in support, and a dash of patriotism to go with it. Of course, you have to put up with a somewhat silly storyline, but musicals of this area weren't ever notably strong in this regard. And that Kissing Stone song is so catchy!

I would have liked it more if it had more Virginia Mayo and less Doris Day.

I enjoyed to the Gene Nelson dancing greatly. I didn't realize he was in Oklahome until my husband pointed that out.
