My boys! (spoiler)

Once again IMDB ignored my addition to "trivia" - but this speaks for itself. I wonder why IMDB acts the way they do when something is simple to confirm....
Anyway, at the end of the big gunfight between the Cleggs and Travis and Sandy, Uncle Shiloh is heard to exclaim: "My boys, you've killed my boys!" This is the same line that was uttered 4 years before By Walter Brennan as old man Clanton at the end of the big gunfight in "My Darling Clementine", also directed by Ford...Coincidence?

reply

At least one of the "boys" Mickey Simpson appeared in both films and his death scenes seem to duplicate each other. Carey and Bogdanovich pay tribute to him on the new DVD commentary. Another memorable role is "Sarge" in GIANT who refuses to serve Mexicans in his diner. The commentary says he was the only stuntman in Hollywood tall enough to take on Rock Hudson.

Probably not. Plus the dance scenes looked interchangeable with the ones in The Grapes of Wrath. Of course he cast the mother (Jane Darwell) from Grapes of Wrath in this as well. Ford reused actors and things from previous films.

Uhhha, that's why I added "coincidence?" - as tongue in cheek!...........Because it was bloody obvious! I didn't just fall off the turnip truck amigo.
