There is a box-set release coming up:
(I'm not a fan of the other films)
It doesn't look like "Wagon Master" will get a separate release:

November 5th:
John Ford Director's Collection (4-disc - The Informer (1935) The Fugitive (1947) Mary of Scotland (1936) and Wagonmaster (1950)

For everyone's information The John Ford Box set that came out did not have Wagonmaster in it, unless this was in Region 2.
The John Ford Collection had The Lost Patrol, The Informer, Mary of Scotland, Sergeant Rutledge, and Cheyenne Autumn.
At least this is for the Region 1 (US and Canada) Box Set was released.
Therefore Wagon Master still needs to be released on DVD.

Warners has announced the U.S. (Region 1) DVD release of RKO's "Wagon Master" on September 15, 2009.

Nice!!!

The way I see it, is that we weren't retreating, we were just attacking in a new direction.

"Wagon Master" is finally being released on DVD by Warner Home Video in October.
A documentory on John Ford is being released about the same time. We had Ben Johnson and Harry Carey Jr. at our film festival back in 1994 and showed "Wagon Master" on the giant screen which was really a treat.

Just rented it from Netflix. Very good print and for extras just a commentary track that lists Peter Bogdanovich, Ford, and Harry Carey Jr., which I didn't listen to this time.

I assume the Ford documentary mentioned in the previous post is the recent updated version of "Directed by John Ford" done by Bogdanovich years ago while Ford was still alive. That docu is excellent IMO and well-worth watching.

Of course you know by now there's an excellent Warner Brothers DVD. The commentary track is by Peter "Says the same thing over and over" Bagdonovich, but Harry Cary, Jr. is there to add oohs and ahs as well as personal memories in his light hearted friendly style.
