Continuity errors

There's a terrific goof near the start of this movie where Lt. Corrigan (Walter Kinsella) refers to the dead woman as 'Tatooed Tilly' BEFORE the coroner reveals that she had a tattoo (confusing huh?). Also later when Tobin is chasing the killer across the back yards he is suddenly shown going in the wrong direction at one point - no wonder he didn't catch him!

Thanks.. I spotted that and thought either I hadn't been paying full attention.. or I was watching a badly edited version.. So glad to know I was right..it is an error

Yup, you are right on both counts. In the long shot of the foot chase across the back yards, he IS going in the wrong direction.
