Like most people I know Miss Vance mostly as Lucille Ball's sidekick. The only other thing I remember her from is that Houdini TV movie with Sally Struther and Paul Michael Glaser. William Frawley I've seen in other movies but Seeing Miss Vance pre-Lucy is quite a pleasant surprise.

Vivian actually gets billing both in the opening and ending titles and her role is quite important to the story. This was one of two movies she made immediately before beginning I LOVE LUCY. It was cool to see her in a non-comic role as a dubious broad.
Trivia: that's Vivian's husband at the time, Philip Lober, playing the second male lead in the film, defensive attorney Gregory.
