The Working Title

for this snooze fest was better: "The Sucret Fury".

It was a snoozer. I had never even heard of this silly movie till TCM ran it today. What a waste.

I enjoyed this movie. In my opinion, it was neither a bore nor a waste. I recorded it to DVR a while ago, along with many others, but only got around to watching it the other night. I especially liked the way it started with David being denied entry to his own wedding.

I'm so used to seeing Robert Ryan as the heavy in movies I was, at first, fully expecting he would be a bad guy in this movie too. When he turned out to be the groom I thought he would be a menacing husband. I was wrong again. The only reason I figured he wasn't in on the deception of another wedding is because I thought he'd marry her before he'd set her up. I did wonder, though, if the ruse about her having already been married was done by her family and friends to protect her in some way from him.

Once I got past that I came up with another theory that was fairly close but I guess the point I'm making is the movie kept me thinking. I like that. It wasn't super complex but when I got to the end of the movie I was not expecting that ending.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
