DVD version
Does anyone know if this film has been released on DVD, or is it likely to be?
shareAfter seeing the Roger Vadim version I've had this film high on my want list but it's really difficult to even locate a copy on vhs. If this version is so much better I don't see why they wouldn't eventually release it on DVD.
The way I see it, is that we weren't retreating, we were just attacking in a new direction.

However you can get a chance to see this, do it. "La Ronde" is one of the most beautiful films ever to touch on the magic and mystery of erotic desire. I can't imagine any director other that the great Ophuls who could present the subject matter in such an understated way. It's interesting to compare with "Eyes Wide Shut", which was also based on a novel by Schnitzler.

The distance is nothing. The first step is the hardest.share
This film is being released on DVD on August 4 2008 by Second Sight. They are a UK company, Region 2.
shareThis film is being released on DVD on August 4 2008 by Second Sight. And a very good transfer it is too, especially considering the age of the film. There are some very interesting/good "extras" as well. And last, but not least, it's a great movie with many long takes/dolly shots, which you might say was Ophuls's trade mark. share
