john howard davies / little boy actor to thriving success

I was curious about the little boy who rode his rocking horse as a means to pick the horses at the local track.

Turns out, he was very, very successful in his life and continued on in the film industry.

Ever hear of Monte Python, Mr. Bean, or Benny Hill ? Guess what. That little boy grew into an adult, award winning producer. :)

Some people thrive in their fields. Alas, I was not one of them.

His acting in "The Rocking Horse Winner" was impressive, and I was surprised to see that the movie was released about nine months after his tenth birthday. That would make him only nine or ten during filming.

I never thrived in my field either, but I was a tremedous success at being a graverobber.

A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep.

He will forever be Oliver Twist to me.
