This great film will be on Turner Classic Movies (TCM) on Saturday, December 22nd, at midnight.

WOW....and what a great movie it was....I recorded it that night and just watched it today!

I hadn't seen it in, literally, decades, and I'd never seen it without commercial interruption (that's how long ago it was!). It was as wonderfully acted and filmed as I remembered. I'm glad you enjoyed it, too. It's going to be on again on TCM some time in the next two weeks (sorry, the date escapes me just now; right after the New Year).

I posted this in another thread, but perhaps someone reading this one will find it useful:

According to TCM's web site, "No Sad Songs for Me" will air again on January 9th, 2008, in the afternoon. The site says 2 p.m. but I imagine that will vary by time zone. Get out those DVRs and TiVos!!!

Nothing personal, but this is a bad bad movie. That's saying a lot as I'm often able to find good in most flicks. Snooozer...

I certainly didn't take it personally, but your post did give me a good chuckle. I'm amazed at how often I read a great review, see the movie, then ask, "And this was so great...how?" Or see one that is solidly panned by everybody and their mother, but I really enjoy it. Opinions are not right or wrong, they simply are. Maybe it's just the movie's time period, the way styles of acting and storyline have changed. Or maybe it just wasn't your cup of tea. But at least you put it nicely.
