I would put this near the top with my favorite film-noir movies like Out of the Past, The Asphalt Jungle and Double Indemnity. 8/10
This is on my list of all time favourite films. I think it is a masterpiece. 10/10 for me.

I just saw the British version of the film. To me the final act was rather weak. The problem for me is that Fabian is such an unethical character, that when he is in peril, in moments that should be tense and exciting, I found myself lacking sympathy and being emotionally uninvested. His death loses the emotional impact it should have had if he weren´t such a damn weasel throughout the movie even including his final act of redemption. Googie Weathers stole the screen whenever she appeared though. It´s solid but it´s not a masterpiece for me.
