God-AWFUL

I waited years to see this B-movie, as I'm a big fan of Main, but this
turkey was so bad I could barely finish it. This is the first time
Main could not save even the weakest of scripts and there wasn't a single
funny moment in this terrible piece smoldering doo. Ridiculous waste of
even 69 minutes. And now I read they wanted to make a SERIES out of this???
Wiser heads prevailed. "Ma and Pa Kettle" may not have been Preston
Sturges or Billy Wilder, but at least they were funny. This was not.

Wow, different strokes I guess. I really enjoyed it, especially with that great supporting cast.

A lot of very old movies are UN-FUNNY by my standards today, and this was no exception. The script was contrived and I assume the two leads were trying their best, but I can't help but agree with the smouldering doo comment. This showed up on TCM on 03 November 2014; I doubt if I will look at it again.
There's no spoiler here: and the butler didn't do it.
The possum up a gum tree? Me no get.

Hey folks,

I thought I saw most films of this era, but I did not remember this one. As much as I have enjoyed Whitmore over the years, his character in this film was just too irresponsible for me to tolerate, and I did not think there was any chance I would find any humor in the film. I bailed out after about ten minutes, and I simply do not care "who did it."

Best wishes,
Dave Wile

Watched it on TCM today. It's not a great movie but it was certainly worth an hour and a quarter.

The leads are great and the supporting cast seems to be one gorgeous blonde after another.

Fred Clarke cracks me up every time.

I saw it on TV DECADES ago.

I remember the opening theme song - and that's about it.

So funny to come here, read all the criticism and understand why I remember nothing else but the title song.

"Don't call me 'honey', mac."
"Don't call me 'mac'... HONEY!"
