Ann Dvorak - always a joy to watch

I know Lana was the star and the one that everyone was supposed to watch, but to me, Ann Dvorak was the one I couldn't stop looking at. Her portrayal of washed up (and likely hyped up) model Mary was mesmerizing. She's a great, often underrated actress.

I agree. She is one of my favotites; as good as,if not better than Bette Davis.

I just started watching this and thought the exact same thing - I couldn't tear my eyes away from Ann Dvorak, which says a lot about her acting skills when she's the center of attention while standing next to Lana Turner. I'm reading her biography "Ann Dvorak: Hollywood's Forgotten Rebel".

I wasn't even sure who the actress was until I looked her up. She was wonderful in this movie.
