One of my favourite Jimmy Cagney movies

Like 'White Heat', I could watch this over and over again. Jimmy, you're greatly missed.

Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye is also one of my favorite gangster movies, it greatly compliments "White Heat" & it's just as good it's just not as well known & remembered. Probably because it hasn't been in continous circulation through the years. I first saw it on TV in 2002 & I was blown away by it just as I was blown away by " White Heat" when I first saw it. White Heat's Cody Jarret was psychopathic where as with Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye James Cagney's Ralph Cotter was more in control & very clever & manipulating & still vicious & cold blooded.

The way he had all those people caught in his web from crooked cops, a shady lawyer, the rich businessman & daughter, the moll, the mechanic, the prison guard etc. Cagney was unstoppable & was in control of every situation & my favorite scene was when Cagney sets a trap for Ward Bond (The Inspector) by secretly recording a conversation on a record over plans for a phony heist to use for blackmail. Very clever plan which only James Cagney could pull off. Cagney could reinvent his gangster roles where each one was different. This is a great movie that needs to be seen more.
