Nice Touch

It was a nice touch to have
bogart's character befriend and stand up for the has-been actor "holding up the bar" at the movie's main watering hole. He treats him with the most respect of all the others who cross his path in the movie, including his agent and detective friend. Kudos also to Morris Ankrum for creating a character who was probably very close to reality.
