CLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIRE

My God, the way she treated her cousin, a Trixie Norton wannabe who just bowed her head and smiled humbly, even grateful Harriet would give her the time of day, much less ORDERS. My favorite scene between the two was when Harriet was on the phone before she left for Walter's office to basically slander him to his boss just so his trip to Japan would be cancelled.

The warm familial dialogue between the two went something like this:
'MY GLOVES AND BAG!"
"Yes Harriet"
"MY SHOES"
"Yes Harriet"

I'm surprised Harriet didn't order Claire to call her "Mrs. Craig".

Now, before I watched the movie again a couple of days ago, when I got it from E-bay, I imagined the shoe scene to be something like this:

'MY GLOVES AND BAG!"
"Yes Harriet"
"MY SHOES"
"Yes Harriet"

(Claire takes a moment to admire Harriet's shoes, and gushes, "oh, so beautiful")
(Harriet grabs the shoe out of Claire's hand and brandishes it at her)
I KNOW THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL. WHY WOULD YOU THINK I'D THINK OTHERWISE? WHY ON EARTH DO YOU THINK I BOUGHT THEM WITH MY HUSBAND'S HARD-EARNED MONEY?

(Harriet slams the shoe back into Claire's hand, heel first - ouch)
OH. STOP STARING AT THEM AND CLOSE YOUR MOUTH, YOU'RE GOING TO GET DROOL ALL OVER THEM. WHY MUST YOU SIGH AND STARE AT EVERYTHING LIKE AN IDIOT?

(Harriet grabs Claire to physically shake her)
WHY ARE YOU DOING THAT? TELL ME....OOOH, JUST SIT STILL NOW

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.
