Neighbor woman and bratty kid

Harriet was right about them...

By far her best movie....she and all the actors were fantastic....kept me wide awake.....if my wife were like her I'd leave without a second thought.....great film..

I totally agree.

OMG, yes! Mrs. Frazer was always sucking around those goddamned roses, laying in wait for Walter with her passive aggressive simper. And that whiney kid, always yammering about the radio being on the blink. If I were Harriet, I would have gone through the roof if I'd found him, with his lollipop and sticky fingers, fiddling with my piano.

I don't think Harriet was right about anything. Her actions and her motivations were ridiculous, and they are matched by Joan Crawford's over-the-top, generally terrible performance. The best I can say for her is that she's fascinatingly awful and keeps one's attention.

What, are you crazy? This movie is tailor-made for Joan and she excels in it. I wish I was a homemaker like Harriet/Joan.

I said the same thing. Harriet was a controlling, manipulative wench, but she was absolutely right about that woman & the kid. I'd be furious is a neighbor woman was offering to cook for my husband, giving him roses and always wanting him to come over & "fix the radio." That is how affairs start, even though it always starts out innocent.
