Does anybody have any idea where this film can be obtained in a dvd format? Or when it might be released in dvd? This is a classic, and it is such a shame that it's not easily available. Is there any way to lobby the copyright holder to release it? Thanks for any help you can provide.

shareYes BBC 4 are showing this movie at 10PM on the 10th September 2006 the running time is 1hour 20 minutes.
I'm sure there will be many DVD recorders recording this movie which still has not seen a commercial DVD release, film companies really should get their act together with these old classics and stop releasing dross which they seem to be doing on a regular basis just check out the release schedule how many have you heard of, let alone want to buy.

my mate taped this film via his dvd recorder for me. but ''gawd damn it'', it wont play on any of my dvd player's. anyone know how i can watch this dvd ?

If anyone's interested there aren't any copyright laws applicable to a DVD recording of this film; because it has never ever been released. (A great shame, and also a missed opportunity by DVD companies). It was available on video about 10 years ago but is now unavailable, and extremely rare copies go on eBay/Amazon for around £50. I got a DVD-recorded-copy from eBay for £3.99! An absolute bargain and it works perfectly. One of my all time favourite films; I'm 23 and nobody my age has ever heard of it. (Also a great shame).
Try eBay; the guy may well still be making them. It's always worth a shot!
